New Green Deal:

As part of the effort to combat the spread of COVID-19, The University of Texas at Austin has implemented a mandatory, campus-wide reduction of laboratory activities to essential operations. In keeping with this mandate, there will be a temporary pause in the distribution of all products from the UTEX Culture Collection of Algae. During this pause, UTEX products will be available for advance purchase at a discounted rate  no discount code required. All orders will be scheduled for delivery when we resume normal operations.

What are NAABB strains?

The National Alliance for Advanced Biofuels and Bio-products (NAABB), a consortium of universities, research institutions, and companies funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, has made 30 of their best performing strains available to the public through UTEX. These strains are well characterized for lipid production and growth kinetics.

This strain is one of the few available from the NAABB that do not require a Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) before purchasing. Please note that this strain is kept in cryopreservation and would require a minimum of 4 weeks before delivery.
