Upcoming Winter Weather Event | February 3-4, 2022

The University/Incident Meteorologist Troy Kimmel and the National Weather Service are both predicting much colder temperatures and possible precipitation beginning Wednesday, into and through Thursday (Feb. 2-3). A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for parts of the Central Texas corridor, with the Austin Metro area under a Winter Storm Warning from 3 AM to 6 PM Thursday, February 3rd. Closures, delayed openings, or early releases caused by any weather incident will be announced on UT Austin’s Emergency Information Page (utexas.edu/emergency).

While we have tried to prepare as much as possible for this upcoming weather event, inclement weather can often be unpredictable. We do not expect any delays for orders currently scheduled to ship out on Monday, February 7th. However, if the campus does shut down, then orders containing algal culture liter media that are placed close to today’s 5:00 PM (CST) deadline may be delayed since we would be unable to prepare them before Monday’s shipment.

Please stay safe everyone!
