Fall 2019 | Upcoming US Academic & Government discount changes

We wanted to give all of our U.S. Non-Profit Academic & Government customers a heads up about an upcoming change to the discount system. Reviewing this information, creating a UTEX Customer Account, and/or submitting your discount request early will help provide a smoother transition when it does launch. Until then the current discount codes will remain valid, afterwards all discount codes will be disabled and the system switched over.

With the new system the discount will be tied to your UTEX Customer Account. While the account is not mandatory to make a regular purchase, customers requesting the discounted rates will need to have one. We think the new customer account system will be beneficial to you as well. The account page will display your purchase history with downloadable pdf invoices available, and with the discount being tied to an account you’ll never have to remember to apply the code. We also think this system will be great for purchasing departments placing orders for algae and supplies for multiple labs or personnel. You will no longer forget to apply the code on an order, you can keep various shipping addresses under one account to quickly checkout, and you can retrieve a pdf copy of an invoice for any order placed under the account.

We appreciate your patience during this transition and apologize for any inconveniences that might occur during the transition. We are excited for the potential the new system will give us, including allowing us to offer deals and better discounts exclusively to our non-profit customers.

Important Eligibility Requirements:

Due to the terms of our NSF grant, the discount is only available to other United States Non-Profit Academic and Government institutions within the contiguous US**.

Please remember when completing your order you must still include the name of the United States Non-Profit Institution you are claiming affiliation with under the "Company" field during checkout. Unless previously authorized by UTEX, the shipping address should be an address within the institution's location. Any orders placed using the discount rate which do not include the required information will be delayed and/or canceled until the information is provided, or the balance at the full-price rates have been paid.

**The contiguous United States consists of the 48 adjoining U.S. states—plus the District of Columbia—on the continent of North America. The term excludes the non-contiguous states of Alaska and Hawaii, and all other off-shore insular areas, such as American Samoa, U.S. Virgin Islands, Northern Mariana Islands, Guam and Puerto Rico.
