SERVICE ALERT UPDATE | February 20, 2021

The University of Texas at Austin has decided the campus will remain closed until Wednesday, February 24th, at 8:00 AM.

As weather conditions worsened during this past week, all research laboratories on campus were required to suspend activities and shut down completely. UT-Austin continues to assess campus safety — including identifying and fixing damages to buildings and water lines — in order to determine the best and safest way to reopen campus and restart research activities.

This will require us to modify the shipping schedule again. We hope you understand how difficult it has been for us to set firm dates for all orders that have been rescheduled, and we appreciate your patience as not just UTEX/UT-Austin, but all of Texas begins to recover.

The University of Texas at Austin has decided the campus will remain closed until Monday, February 22nd, at 8:00 AM.

This will require us to delay all orders scheduled to ship out on February 22nd to the following week, March 1st—this will not affect orders already scheduled to ship on March 1st. Delayed orders originally scheduled to ship out on February 15th will now ship out on Monday, February 22nd.

The University of Texas at Austin has extended the campus closure through at least Friday, February 19, at 8:00 AM. The university will continue to monitor the situation and announce a reopening when conditions are determined to be safe.

SERVICE ALERT UPDATE | February 14, 2021

The University of Texas announced today, February 14th, that the campus will remain closed through Wednesday, February 17th, due to the threat of severe winter weather. View UT-Austin Announcement.

Orders that were rescheduled to ship out on Tuesday, February 16th, will now ship out on Monday, February 22nd, to ensure orders do not arrive to academic institutions over the weekend. It is also possible that some shipments originally scheduled for February 22nd, could be delayed until February 29th. Please follow our social media accounts or newsletters for any new updates.

UTEX personnel will be working remotely on Monday and Tuesday, and will be available for assistance through the UTEX Help Desk.

SERVICE ALERT UPDATE | February 12, 2021

Dear Friends of UTEX,

The University of Texas at Austin and the National Weather Service are both anticipating several winter weather events over the next five days. UT’s Office of Campus Safety and UTPD will be monitoring forecasts and campus conditions through the weekend to decide about any potential closures and/or opening delays.

Because the potential threat of severe winter weather will also affect significant portions of the United States and not only Austin, UTEX will be delaying Monday’s shipments to Tuesday, February 16th, to try and minimize any exposure to temperature extremes along the transit routes.

To ensure the safety of UTEX personnel, we will also be working remotely on Monday, February 15th, and will be available for assistance through the UTEX Help Desk.

Weather is often unpredictable and conditions can change rapidly, so please be safe and stay warm.
