PostDoc Position Available at St. Cloud State University

St. Cloud State University invites applications through November 6th, 2016, for a PostDoc position (Position #16-00260).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conduct research in accordance with an externally funded contract utilizing digestion products for commercial scale algal biomass production. Activities will include experimental design and execution, data collection, manuscript and grant preparation. Supervise undergraduate research students in the design and implementation of projects related to photosynthetic microbes. This is not a tenure-track position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

• Ph.D. in Biology or related discipline.
• Previous research experience with micro algal cell isolation and culture.
• Evidence of demonstrated scholarly activity.
• Evidence of demonstrated ability to work with persons from culturally diverse backgrounds.

Preferred:

• Experience with commercial scale algal biomass production.
• Experience with supercritical CO₂ extraction of botanical products.
• Familiarity and expertise in micro algal systematics and ecology.
