Beginning September 27, 2020 the United States Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), will require an Electronic Export Information (EEI) filing for shipments originating from the United States with a destination to the People’s Republic of China. The rules expand the EEI filing requirements in Automated Export Systems (AES) for U.S. exports to China in two stages:
UTEX will file an EEI with FedEx prior to the preparation of shipping labels. It is important to note that FedEx charges a filing and processing surcharge for each FedEx Express shipment that requires an EEI. This $20 USD surcharge will be automatically included in the shipping charges for all orders destined for China. It is still the customer’s responsibility to provide UTEX with any additional paperwork/permits required before the order ships.
