Description of Location: Collected as part of a bulk microbial mat in a mixing zone downstream from 2 high arsenic geothermal springs at El Tatio geyser field. Isolated from a bulk microbial mat sample with high diversity (200+ species IDêd). Mat was laminated with green, brown, and reddish layers. Bulk sample was collected using sterile technique, stored in a 15mL Falcon tube, and refrigerated until isolation by enrichment culture. The chemical parameters at the sampling location: T=65çC pH 6.0 [CO2/HCO3-]= 2.7 mM C [Na+]= 2,386 ppm [Cl-]= 4,332 ppm [As(V)]= 0.31 mM, [As(III)]= 0.03 mM
